Allow the microphone
Copilot listens through your phone’s microphone, so it needs microphone access.
The first time the Copilot tab gets ready to listen, iOS asks for access to the microphone. Tap Allow.
If you didn’t allow it, the main button on the Copilot tab says Enable Permissions. Tap it to open Interview Pilot’s page in the iPhone Settings app, then turn on Microphone.
The first time you open the app, Android asks whether Interview Pilot can record audio. Allow it.
If you didn’t allow it, the main button on the Copilot tab says Enable Permissions. Tap it, and if Android doesn’t ask again, choose Open Settings and turn on the microphone under Permissions.
Interview Pilot may ask for other permissions only when you use the feature that needs them:
| Permission | When it’s asked |
|---|---|
| Camera | When you take a photo to add as context, or start an AI mock interview. |
| Notifications | When you tap Enable Daily Practice, or turn on notifications in the app’s settings. |
| Speech Recognition (iPhone only) | When transcription uses the Default option in Transcription & Language. |
Using it without an account
Everything you need for an interview works without signing in: Copilot, practice, history and interview profiles. Your data stays on the phone, and the Free plan’s weekly limits are counted on that phone.
Sign in when you want to sync with your other devices, schedule interviews with reminders, or use a Pro subscription you bought on the web or in the desktop app. See what changes when you sign in.
To sign in or create an account, open the Profile tab and tap Sign In / Register under App Settings. Learn more about accounts.
Interview Pilot on iPad
The iPhone app also runs on iPad, in portrait or landscape. Download it from the App Store the same way, and sign in with the same account to see your profiles and history.
