Understand your evaluation

What each score in your mock interview evaluation means, how to read the delivery and content feedback, and how to use it to improve your next answer.

Applies toMacWindowsiPhoneAndroidWeb

After each AI mock interview, Interview Pilot scores what you said and how you said it, points to the exact moments to work on, and writes a sample answer for the same question. The evaluation opens as soon as the mock interview ends, and stays with the practice session in History.

The top of an evaluation: the overall score, the content and delivery scores, and the score breakdown.

Your scores

Every score is out of 10.

ScoreWhat it measures
OverallThe average of the six scores in the breakdown.
Content ScoreWhat you said: whether it answers the question, and how clear, specific, complete and concise it is, with examples and impact.
Delivery ScoreHow you said it, judged from the recording of your voice: pace, pauses, filler words, clarity, volume, tone and confidence.

The Score breakdown chart shows six more detailed scores:

  • Accuracy, Relevance, Structure and Depth are based on what you said.
  • Delivery and Professionalism are based on the recording of your voice.

Delivery feedback

The delivery part of your evaluation starts with a short summary and four numbers:

  • Duration: how long you spoke.
  • Words: how many words you said.
  • Pace: your speed in words per minute.
  • Fillers: how many filler words you used, such as “um” and “like”.

Under Delivery Feedback, each card points to one moment in your answer. It shows the time in your recording, how much it matters (High, Medium or Low), the kind of issue, such as a filler word, a long pause or trailing off, what was heard, and a suggestion. When the recording is available, tap or click a card to hear that moment.

Content feedback

The content part starts with a summary of your answer, then two lists:

  • Content Strengths: quotes from your answer that worked, and why.
  • Content Improvements: quotes that were weak or something that was missing, how much it matters, and a specific way to improve it.

Sample answer and transcript

Sample Answer is a strong answer to the same question, written for you to compare with your own. Use it for ideas and structure, then say it in your own words.

Your Transcript shows what you said. Choose Show transcript to open it.

Play back your answer

Your evaluation includes a player for the recording of your answer, where it’s available:

  • iPhone and Android: the recording is kept on the phone where you did the mock interview, so you can play it back there.
  • Web: recordings of mock interviews done on the web are saved to your account. You can play them on the web and in the Mac and Windows apps.

Use your evaluation to improve

  1. Find the lowest score in the breakdown and focus on that first.
  2. Read the High items under Delivery Feedback and Content Improvements first.
  3. Listen to two or three of the flagged moments so you can hear the habit, not just read about it.
  4. Compare your answer with the Sample Answer and note one thing to add or cut.
  5. Right after a mock interview, choose Practice Again to answer the same question again, then compare the scores.
