Interview audio recordings
Record your Copilot interviews on iPhone or Android, play them back in History, and see where recordings are kept, how to delete them and how practice recordings work.
The iPhone and Android apps can record your Copilot interviews so you can listen to them again in History. Recordings stay on the phone that made them. The Mac and Windows apps don’t record interview audio.
Turn recording on or off
Record Interview Audio is on until you turn it off.
Open Settings
On your iPhone or Android phone, open the Profile tab, which holds Settings.
Tap Record Interview
It’s under Interview Settings and shows On or Off.
Switch Record Interview Audio on or off
The change applies the next time Copilot starts listening.
If you turn it off during an interview, the audio recorded so far in that session is thrown away when Copilot next starts listening.
What’s recorded and when it’s saved
- What: everything the phone’s microphone hears while Copilot is listening, including you and the interviewer if their voice plays nearby. Nothing is recorded while listening is stopped.
- Saved: when you tap End, then End & Save. The recording is saved with the interview in History. End is available once Copilot has given at least one answer.
- Thrown away: if you choose Reset Session instead, the interview and its recording aren’t saved.
Play a recording
Open the interview
Open the History tab and tap the interview.
Use the player under the title
Tap play or pause, and drag along the bar to jump to another moment. The time shows how far you are and how long the recording is, for example 2:15 / 18:40.
The player appears only when the recording is on this phone. Interviews recorded on another phone, or with Record Interview Audio off, have no player.
Where recordings are kept
- Only on the phone that recorded them. They aren’t uploaded to your Interview Pilot account, and they don’t appear on your other devices or on the web.
- Signing in keeps them. When you sign in on the phone for the first time, your interviews are added to your account and their recordings stay on the phone.
- Deleting the app deletes them. Recordings are removed from the phone along with the Interview Pilot app.
Delete a recording
A recording is deleted together with its interview. There’s no separate button for the audio.
- Delete the interview: swipe left on it in Your History and tap Delete, or choose Delete from the More actions menu in the interview. It moves to Recently Deleted, and the recording stays on the phone in case you restore it.
- The recording is removed from the phone when the interview is deleted for good: when you choose Delete Forever or Empty, after 30 days, or when you delete it for good on another device signed in to the same account.
Restore or permanently delete an interview.
Practice recordings
AI mock interviews record your answer whether or not Record Interview Audio is on, because your evaluation’s Delivery Score is judged from it.
| Where you practiced | Where you can play it back |
|---|---|
| iPhone or Android | In the evaluation, on the phone where you did the mock interview. The recording stays on that phone. |
| Web | In the evaluation in History, on the Practice tab. Web recordings are saved with the practice session in your account, so you can also play them in the Mac and Windows apps. |
Tap or click a Delivery Feedback card in the evaluation to hear that moment. Understand your evaluation.
