Organize interviews with folders

Create colored folders for your interviews and practice sessions, move items in and out, rename or delete folders, and keep them in sync on every device.

Applies toMacWindowsiPhoneAndroidWeb

Folders keep related interviews and practice sessions together, for example everything for one company. Each item can be in one folder at a time. When you’re signed in, your folders appear on all your devices.

Create a folder

  1. Open Manage folders

In the workspace, click History, then Manage folders at the top.

  2. Click New Folder

Type a name under FOLDER NAME and pick a color under FOLDER COLOR. The last swatch lets you choose a Custom Color.

  3. Click Create

The folder appears under YOUR FOLDERS. Click Done to close.

Add an interview or practice session to a folder

Open the item from History and use the folder button at the top.

DeviceWhat to do
Mac and WindowsClick Add to Folder and choose a folder. Once the item is in a folder, the button shows that folder’s name.
iPhone and AndroidTap the folder icon at the top right and choose a folder.
WebClick Add to folder and choose a folder.

To move the item, choose a different folder from the same button. To take it out, choose Remove from Folder, or Remove from folder on the web. The same menu also opens Manage folders (Manage Folders on phones), so you can create a folder without leaving the item.

Rename or recolor a folder

  1. Open Manage folders, or the Folder Manager on a phone.
  2. Click or tap the pencil next to the folder.
  3. Change the name or color and choose Save.

When you’re signed in, the change shows on your other devices the next time they sync.

Delete a folder

  1. Open Manage folders, or the Folder Manager on a phone.
  2. Click or tap the trash icon next to the folder.
  3. Confirm with Delete.

Deleting a folder doesn’t delete what’s in it. Its interviews and practice sessions stay in History without a folder. The folder itself doesn’t go to Recently Deleted, so it can’t be restored.

Folders on your devices

  • Signed in: folders are part of your account. Creating, renaming or deleting one on any device changes it everywhere. Learn how sync works.
  • iPhone or Android without an account: folders are saved on that phone only. When you sign in for the first time, they’re added to your account with your interviews.
  • If a change doesn’t save: on Mac and Windows you see Folder change could not be saved, and on the web The folder change could not be saved. Check your internet connection and try again.

To show only one or more folders in History, use the folder filter. Find a past interview.
