Interview Pilot shows up in my screen share
Hide Interview Pilot right away, then fix the cause, from Zoom’s capture mode on a Mac to the screen-share protection banner on Windows, and test before your next interview.
If you’re sharing your screen right now, press ⌘B on a Mac or CtrlB on Windows to hide Interview Pilot. A hidden window doesn’t appear in your share. Then work through these checks before you share again.
1. Using Zoom on a Mac? Switch to Advanced capture
In its default Automatic capture mode, Zoom can include Interview Pilot in your share. While Zoom is running, Interview Pilot reminds you at the top of its window.
In Zoom, change Screen capture mode to Advanced capture with window filtering, then restart Zoom. Step-by-step instructions.
2. On Windows, look for the protection banner
If Windows doesn’t confirm that Interview Pilot is protected, a banner appears below its control bar.
- Click Retry. The banner goes away once protection is back.
- If it stays, quit Interview Pilot from Account › Quit App in the workspace, then open it again from the Start menu.
- Until the banner is gone, hide Interview Pilot with CtrlB whenever you share your screen.
3. On Windows, check your Windows version
Interview Pilot needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later, or Windows 11. To check, open Settings › System › About. To update, open Windows Update in Settings.
4. Check what else is on your screen
Interview Pilot can only keep its own windows out of your share. Permission prompts from macOS or Windows, your browser, notifications and files you open show up as usual.
Sharing one window or browser tab, instead of your entire screen, keeps everything else out of view. More about sharing a window or your screen.
5. Check recordings the same way
Interview Pilot is designed to stay out of screen recordings too, including a meeting app’s recording of your share. If it appears in a recording, the checks above apply. It can’t keep itself out of a camera or another device pointed at your screen.
Test before your next interview
Run a two-minute test with a second device, using the same meeting app and the same way of sharing as in the interview. If Interview Pilot still shows up, email us with your computer’s system version, your meeting app, how you share and whether you see the banner.
