What’s in a diagnostic report

See what a diagnostic report contains and never contains, how the Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android apps attach it to a support email, and how to check it before you send.

A diagnostic report is a small text file that the Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android apps can attach to a support email. It shows us how the app and your device are set up and what happened recently, so we can find technical problems faster. It doesn’t contain your interviews.

What a report contains

PartWhat’s in it
Support ReferenceA short code, also in the email’s subject, and when the report was made.
AppThe Interview Pilot version and build.
DeviceThe device model, system version, language and region setting and time zone. On Mac and phones, also whether power-saving mode is on. On Android, also whether you’re connected to the internet and how.
PermissionsWhether Interview Pilot can use the microphone. Also Screen & System Audio on Mac, the camera on phones, Speech Recognition on iPhone and notifications on Android.
AccountWhether you’re signed in, and your account email and ID, so we can find your account.
Plan and usageWhether Pro is active and how many free sessions or Copilot answers are left. On phones, also your premium transcription minutes.
SettingsInterview and Copilot settings, such as interview mode, language, Auto-Generate and response style. For custom instructions, only whether you have any.
Recent technical eventsWhat the app did recently, such as transcription, sign-in or sync errors, with personal details removed.

What it never contains

  • Audio or recordings
  • Transcripts
  • Prompts, or the text of your custom instructions
  • Passwords or other credentials
  • Payment information

Send a report

  1. Open Contact Support

Use Contact Support in the app. Find it on your device.

  2. Leave Include Diagnostic Report on

It’s on by default. Turn it off if you’d rather not send a report.

  3. Choose Compose Email

The app makes the report at this moment and attaches it to a new email. The email says A sanitized diagnostic report is attached., or No diagnostic report was included. if the switch was off.

The file is named after your platform and the support reference, for example InterviewPilot-Diagnostics-macOS-1A2B3C4D.txt. How it’s attached depends on your device:

DeviceHow the report is attached
MacAttached to a new email in your email app. If no email app is set up, click Share Email to send it another way.
WindowsAttached to a new email in your email app. If your email app can’t take attachments this way, you see Your email app and the diagnostic report location are open. Attach the selected report to the message. Drag the selected file into the email.
iPhoneAttached to a new email in Mail. If Mail isn’t set up, the share sheet opens with the message and the report. Choose another email app and send it to Support@LiberaceAI.com.
AndroidChoose your email app. The report is attached to the new email.

The web platform doesn’t create diagnostic reports.

Check it before you send

  • Nothing is sent until you send the email. The app doesn’t upload the report on its own. If you close the email without sending it, we don’t receive anything.
  • Read it first if you like. The report is plain text. Your email app may let you open the attachment from the draft before you send it.
  • Remove it if you change your mind. Delete the attachment from the draft, or go back and turn off Include Diagnostic Report. Keep the Support Reference in the email so we can match it to your report.
