Profiles or history aren’t syncing

If profiles, documents or interviews don’t show up on your other devices, check the account you’re signed in to, the sync status and changes waiting to be sent.

Applies toMacWindowsiPhoneAndroidWeb

Your profiles, documents, folders, history and practice sync through your Interview Pilot account. When something doesn’t show up on another device, it’s usually signed in to a different account, signed out, or hasn’t synced yet.

1. Check that every device uses the same account

Each device only shows the work of the account it’s signed in to. Compare the email address on each one:

DeviceWhere to find the email
Mac and WindowsAccount in the workspace sidebar
iPhone and AndroidProfile tab, then tap your profile picture or initials and choose My Account
WebAccount settings, at platform.interviewpilot.app/account

If you signed in with Apple using Hide My Email, that’s a separate account from one with your own email address. Sign out and sign in with the account that has your work. See Signing out.

On iPhone and Android, Interview Pilot also works signed out. Then everything stays on the phone and nothing syncs until you sign in. See Use the phone app without an account.

2. Check the sync status

If the workspace shows Cloud data couldn’t sync. Try again to keep this device up to date., click Refresh. If the message comes back, quit Interview Pilot from Account › Quit App and open it again.

While your Mac is offline, there’s no message. Interview Pilot keeps showing what’s on the Mac and tries again on its own.

3. Bring the other device up to date

Devices pick up changes when they next sync, for example when you open Interview Pilot or switch back to it. If a change hasn’t appeared yet, switch to Interview Pilot on the other device, or reload the page on the web.

A change made offline is sent from that device once it’s back online. Open Interview Pilot there while it’s connected.

4. Don’t sign out with changes waiting

If you sign out while changes are still waiting to be sent, Interview Pilot shows Unsynced changes. Choose Cancel, connect to the internet, then sign out again. Sign Out Anyway discards those changes for good.

5. If the web says the item changed

This item changed on another device. Refresh the page before trying again. means a newer version was saved from another device while you had the page open. Reload the page, check the item, then make your change again.

When the same item is edited on two devices, Interview Pilot keeps both edits if they’re to different details. If they’re to the same detail, the edit that reaches your account last is kept. A deletion wins over edits made elsewhere.

What doesn’t sync

Some things stay on each device by design, so they never appear elsewhere:

  • App settings, such as appearance, interview language and how Copilot writes answers.
  • The profile selected for interviews.
  • Audio recordings made on a phone.
  • On iPhone and Android, the original document files. Only the text read from them is saved to your account.

See How sync works across your devices for the full list.

Still missing?

If an interview or practice session is missing, check Recently Deleted in History. Deleted interviews stay there for 30 days. See Restore a deleted interview from Recently Deleted. If an item still doesn’t appear, contact us with the email you sign in with, the devices you use and what’s missing.
