I paid but the app still shows Free

If you subscribed to Pro but an app or the web still shows the Free plan or weekly limits, work through these checks in order.

Applies toMacWindowsiPhoneAndroidWeb

Most of the time, Pro is active but the device is signed in to a different account, or hasn’t picked up the purchase yet. Work through these checks in order.

1. Give activation a moment

After you pay on the web, the plans page shows Payment received. Activating your subscription… and then Your subscription is active.

If you see Payment was completed, but access is still activating. Check again in a moment., wait a moment and click Check activation.

2. Check that you’re signed in to the right account

Pro belongs to the Interview Pilot account you subscribed with. Check which account each device is signed in to:

  • Web: sign in at platform.interviewpilot.app and open Account settings. On the Subscription tab, No active platform subscription is attached to this account. means this account doesn’t have Pro.
  • Mac and Windows: open the workspace and go to Account. On Mac, your email address is shown on this page. On Windows, your username is shown, or your email address if you haven’t set a username.

If the account is different, sign out and sign in with the account you subscribed with. If you used Apple or Google to sign in, choose the same one again. Signing in with Apple using Hide My Email creates a separate account.

3. Bought Pro on a phone? Open the phone app signed in

An App Store or Google Play purchase reaches your account only when the phone app checks it while you’re signed in.

  1. Sign in on the phone

Open the iPhone or Android app you subscribed in and sign in with the account you use on your computer. If you’re already signed in, just open the app.

  2. Check the source on the web

In Account settings › Subscription on the web, Source shows App Store or Google Play once the purchase is linked.

If Source still doesn’t show the store, the purchase may already be linked to another Interview Pilot account. See One subscription on all your devices.

4. Reopen the Mac or Windows app

The desktop apps check your plan regularly, but it can take a few minutes after you pay. To check straight away, go to Account in the workspace, click Quit App, then open Interview Pilot again. Interview Sessions and Copilot Use should show Unlimited.

If the Account page shows Unable to verify subscription status., check your internet connection, then reopen the app.

5. Check the phone app

  • On iPhone, check Usage, not Subscriptions. If you subscribed on the web or from your computer, the iPhone app’s Subscriptions screen shows Free, because it only lists App Store subscriptions. Pro still works when you’re signed in to the same account. Open Settings › Usage instead: Interview Sessions and Copilot Use show Unlimited. You don’t need to subscribe again.
  • Restore a phone purchase. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app and the phone itself shows Free, restore your purchase. Make sure the phone uses the same Apple ID or Google account you subscribed with.

Still showing Free?
