How hiring works in Indonesia

Two routes show the range of Indonesian hiring, and they treat outside help very differently.

• Civil service (CASN). Selection runs on SSCASN, the national civil service selection portal run by the civil service agency BKN. The timeline it showed on October 21, 2026 moves from administrative selection to a basic competency test (SKD), then field-specific tests (SKB), with the SKD scheduled for 6 to 15 November 2026. These are formal selection tests, and no assistant belongs in them.
• Private employers. Each company sets its own steps, and language requirements show up in the postings. Final Round AI's and ParakeetAI's payment FAQs name cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay but not QRIS or Indonesian e-wallets such as GoPay, OVO or DANA, and LockedIn's and Verve's pricing pages name no payment methods. A candidate without a credit or debit card is therefore limited to plans billed through Google Play or the App Store. That makes free allowances more valuable than usual. Three time zones

Indonesia has three time zones under Presidential Decree No. 41 of 1987: WIB at UTC+7 for Sumatra, Java and West and Central Kalimantan; WITA at UTC+8 for Bali, Nusa Tenggara, the rest of Kalimantan and Sulawesi; and WIT at UTC+9 for Maluku and Papua. A 10:00 a.m. interview with a Singapore team is 9:00 a.m. in Jakarta, 10:00 a.m. in Makassar and 11:00 a.m. in Jayapura.

Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law, No. 27 of 2022, gives you the right to information about who is processing your data and why, to correct it, to get access to and a copy of it, to have it deleted, to withdraw consent, and to object to decisions made only by automated processing. It also applies to processing outside Indonesia that has legal effect in Indonesia or for Indonesian citizens abroad, and it gave organisations two years from October 2022 to comply.
